Description: The mission of the NC State Board of Sanitarian Examiners is to assure that the services performed by Registered Sanitarians are ethical, legal, and provide appropriate protection of the public’s health. The Board of Sanitarian Examiners is charged with the responsibility of regulating the practice of environmental health in North Carolina. It regulates the practice through the enforcement of state laws and rules so that the health of the public is protected from environmental hazards.
