Description: The Marching 'Canes is without a doubt the best activity I've ever decided to join. I relish all of my memories from Mount Dora High Schools marching band. We all are very social with each other. Our band director Mr. Porter is the funniest teacher I've ever had. Every one gets along very well and work very hard for all the acheivments we've made. There is some bickering on occasion but overall we put our differences aside and make each other laugh. Whe the day is done and we're at our preformance we put on a captivating preformance to get our audiance extatic!

Description: If you are a student attending Mt. Dora Highschool, on of the best activities to get involved in is the band progra,. Not only does band teach you how to play music, it can help you with life skills as well.But first let's talk about the obvious reasons you should join band. If you like to play music, this is the program for you. Mr. Porter us a very commendable band director, and he loves what he does. Another reason you might want to join band, is because of the amount of friends you make. It's almost immpossible to become social because of how congenial everyone is. Wether it be marching band season, or concert band, the music is almost always captivating. Band is a very succesful program and even if you can't make it to all of the events, Mr. Porter is always willing to be flexible. Join Band!!!

Description: The Mount Dora Art Festival is a very popular event in our community.Large crowds from all over the country come to veiw the art, clothing, and even food all palatable to various senses. When my aunt and uncle came down for a visit from Maryland, they couldn't believe we never told them about this before. Luckly they came at a most opportune time to see this festivity. Hearing about this subsequently, they insisted we take them. We enjoyed walking around and trying new foods, enjoying the commendable artwork, tempted to purchase completely random yet still very useful products. There is such a variety of art and home-made items that it seems nearly impossible and extremely uncommon to fall victim to boredom or lose interest in anything you see. I hope to continue attending this event even when I'm 70.

Description: The captivating town of Mt. Dora, Florida located about 45 min. north of Orlando, holds many beautiful diversions. There are wonderful stores, such as Wekiva Music, great restaurants such as One Flight Up, and beautiful Lake Dora. In our stores, the clerks are always sociable. In lovely One Flight Up, a charming coffee shop with palatable food and clearly audible music, my sister, Olivia, and her fiancé, David, play music one can truly relish in. When you pass through town you inevitable come to our beautiful, permanent Lake Dora. This scene is an uncommon one in other towns, but here in Mt. Dora, the picturesque scene of little boats passing back and forth is a truly a comfort to the eye. Mt. Dora is truly a dreamer’s paradise.
