We are pleased to announce a new integration that allows partners to link their archived websites to a related ArchivesSpace record. This work was collaboratively completed by Archive-It and New York University (NYU) Libraries as part of Archiving the Websites of Contemporary Composers, a grant funded by The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation.

The music industry has been fundamentally altered by the dominance of web-based distribution channels. Curators at the NYU Avery Fisher Center for Music and Media are pursuing a documentation strategy for contemporary composers that supplements traditional curation of master audiovisual assets with preservation of artists’ web presence. The ArchivesSpace integration was developed in order to make visible to a researcher information about related collections and digital objects that belong to it. An example is shown here in the Avery Fisher Center: K. Marie Kim collection.

While the example above links to a collection-level record, the integration can link Archive-It seeds to any level of record in an ArchivesSpace repository. A full set of instructions on how to set up and use the integration is available in the Archive-It Help Center.

If you have a use case for another integration with an external service, we’d love to hear more! Please reach out to us at ait [at] archive [dot] org.
