Research-services

Archive-It Research Services (ARS) expands the ways that Archive-It partners can provide access to their archives by providing data sets extracted from their collections. As an add-on service to Archive-It, ARS enables any Archive-It partner to give users, researchers, developers, and other patrons easy-to-analyze data sets that contain key metadata elements, link graphs, named entities, and other data derived from the resources within their collections. These datasets can also be used by partners for internal uses including collection analysis, indexing, and tool building.

By supporting access in dataset format to partners’ archives, ARS facilitates new types of use, research, and analysis of the significant historical records from the web archives that our partners collect, preserve, and make accessible.

Existing Archive-It partners may access ARS and its supporting documentation at any time through the link at the top of our web application.

We’re excited to see what our partners and their patrons can create with these new resources — the first of their kind for curated web collections.
