Description: "The fiber arts have been a long held tradition for Liz’s family. She was taught to knit at a young age by her mother, who had been taught by her grandmother. Later, she learned to spin both on a drop spindle and a wheel. She continues to enjoy learning new knitting techniques while building the ever-increasing yarn stash. In 2010, Adam and Liz bought a 40 acre farm in Milanville, PA. They combined their loves of animals and fiber to create Skirted Fleece Farm. In March 2010, the adventure began with the arrival of six Tibetan yaks. Together with a small herd of CVM sheep and three angora rabbits, their dream came to life.As Skirted Fleece Farm grew, Adam and Liz found that there was a need for a locally based fiber mill. With a desire to spend more time both with each other and their animals, they decided to create a mill on the property to cater to the local farmers and artisans. In 2013, Skirted Fleece Mill opened its doors." -- from the website, 2019.11.01
