BC has not. Why? #bcpoli / Why is BC failing, yet again, to apply the precautionary principle? We have had 5 waves of Covid, ample chance to learn what to do. This morning there are multiple cases of Covid in my disabled sister's LTC - AGAIN. Description: Sonia Furstenau on Twitter: "Today I asked Premier @jjhorgan what, in a pandemic, his government owes to the people and those who live with them who are medically vulnerable or immunocompromised? The Minister of Health answered instead. 1/ #bcpoli #COVID19BC #COVID19 / I ask this because @humanrights4bc sent a letter to the PHO arguing that the mask mandate should remain. The letter states, “Lifting the mask mandate will do disproportionate harm to those who are already marginalized”. 2/ #bcpoli #COVID19BC https://bchumanrights.ca/wp-content/uploads/2022.03.16-Letter-to-Bonnie-Henry-End-of-Mask-Mandate.pdf / . @jjhorgan has tasked his gov't with tackling systemic discrimination – it is in the mandate letter of the Minister of Health. And yet, our Human Rights Commissioner said that the sudden removal of the mask mandate will have profound effects on vulnerable people in BC. 3/ #bpcoli / “[…] the mask mandate is not about eliminating risk; it is about sharing the risk burden across society rather than transferring it to a marginalized or medically vulnerable minority.” 4/ #bcpoli #COVID19BC / . @humanrights4BC is saying that the decision from this government to remove the mask mandate is harming the most vulnerable in our province. I asked the Premier for his response to the Human Rights Commissioner? There wasn't any. 5/ #bcpoli #COVID19BC / . @AdrianDix stood both times and waived their responsibility to British Columbians by putting it all on Dr. Henry. He went on to oppose the view of the Human Rights Commissioner that the decisions from this government are harming vulnerable people in BC. 6/6 #bcpoli #COVID19BC"

Description: Nicholas M. Pescod on Twitter: "Like many others in B.C., I too tested positive for #COVID19 earlier this month. I am only sharing this because I know there are others out there who also tested positive via rapid test or were sick but couldn't get tested at all.🧵 1/ / I am tripled vaccinated and if I am being honest, I didn't even think it was COVID — largely because I never lost my sense of taste or smell, symptoms that others I know experienced. For me, it felt like a sinus infection with a bad cough. 2/ / I also felt really, really tired a lot of the time. Fortunately, I didn't experience any of the really severe symptoms that others have experienced. Sinus pain, cough, sore throat, and really tired! 3/ / I tested positive on a rapid test which took a ridiculous amount of time and effort for me to obtain. This was before they became available for everyone 18+ here in B.C. 4/ / I am fine now but what I will say is I didn't think I had #COVID19 at first and because access to free PCR testing is nearly impossible for most, I just opted to stay home and isolate. Only after someone I know tested positive via PCR, did I manage to get a rapid test. 5/ / I can tell from the comments in previous tweets and in general on here that there are a decent number of tripled vaxed people who became infected this month. It sucks because COVID impacts everyone differently. 6/ / For me, it wasn't so bad (lucky not to experience brain fog or worse) but it wasn't a walk in the park either and I wouldn't want to get it again. I also personally know a few people (none I came in contact with while infectious) who had COVID this month too. 7/ / Anyway, I went on long enough here but the point is #COVID19 is out there. I am curious if anyone has successfully FOI'd their own test results from the province/BCCDC?"
