Description: A creative community project that would not have occurred if not for the time available to it's contributors under lockdown. The Redwood Violin is an instrument built completely from materials from Sonoma County. The project included contributions from local businesses and artisans, and in this way, it was a community effort. The project continues in its second phase "played local" where the instrument is played on and recorded by various local musicians. In April of 2022 the violin will be donated to the Santa Rosa Symphony Youth Orchestra.

Description: Here's my songwriting output for 2020, presented in unrepentant lo-fi glory. It's December as I write this so I call it "I Don't Play Xmas Songs, I Play Coronavirus Songs" Click on the link and let 'r rip. I included a couple of older ones in the playlist (at the end) that fit the topic. I have bold plans to electrify (most of) these songs and arrange them for a rowdy band etc. Hopefully next year. Enjoy!

Description: Shelter-in-place or lockdown? As a teaching artist of incarcerated youth and adults, I haven't been too happy with shelter-in-place being referred to as "lockdown." People locked up in our jails, prisons, and ICE detention centers are literally in lockdown, meaning isolation from all contact with the outside world. In honor of Black Lives Matter and the disproportionate number of black and brown members of our society impacted by incarceration, I decided to write a book of poetry interwoven with the voices of men and women with whom I've worked so they could be heard. The result is Plexiglass.
