Title: Institutos de Derechos Humanos de la Universidad Centroamericana "José Simeón Cañas" / Central American University's José Simeón Cañas Institute of Human Rights

The Institute documents all types of human rights violations in El Salvador, with a particular emphasis in documenting human rights violations as a result of state violence (during the civil war) and providing legal aid to victims. IDHUCA's members are in a precarious security situation because El Salvador's government is notorious for its efforts at detering any investigations or information on human rights violations. Members of IDHUCA have been harassed.
