The directors and members of ASFADDES have been subject to illegal surveillance and death threats from paramilitary groups. They have filed a petition to the Inter American Human Rights Court to require the Colombian state to provide them with minimum safety guarantees. Description: In Spanish. Official government website for the ombudsman of Colombia. Contains news, publications, photographs, audio and video materials, and an event calendar. The Procuraduría oversees state employees in their exercise of their public duties. Within the ongoing peace process between the state and paramilitry forces, the Procuraduría is charged with promoting participatory mechanisms for the victims. They are organizing a project that archives the non-judicial materials produced in the course of the prosecution of paramilitary crimes: testimonies, objects, photographs. Organization has limited funding and security concerns associated with what is a highly controversial peace process between the state and the paramilitaries. Links between paramilitary forces and state agents have been publicly denounced, and in certain cases proved in court.

Criminal charges for libel and diffamation have also been made against him for his work exposing the links between governemnt officials and paramilitary forces.
