The Revolutionary Association of the Women of Afghanistan (RAWA), was established in 1977 as an independent political/social organization of Afghan women fighting for human rights in Afghanistan. Their objectives are to fight fundamentalism and secure democracy for Afghans. RAWA has established schools, orphanages, and soup kitchens, and run trade courses for sex workers.
