Description: This article includes a statement made by the Indigenous Peoples Forum on Mining, Climate Change, and Good Living that was held in Lima, Peru from November 18-20, 2010. The statement includes a section explicitly focusing on mining issues, in which forum participants assert their right to consultation concerning all mining projects that affect their communities and a demand for the annulment of all mining concessions in which indigenous communities were not consulted. The statement also includes a section dedicated to climate change, in which forum participants explicitly reject the development of a carbon market and assert that the development of the biofuel industry threatens food security.
