The North Carolina State Government Web Site Archives contains content from the Web sites of North Carolina State Government Agencies, Occupational Licensing Boards, and Commissions. This collection includes many different types of records, in a variety of file formats (such as text-based information, images, and video and audio files) including meeting minutes, policies, and agency publications. The State Library of North Carolina and the North Carolina State Archives have collaborated on this initiative to identify, capture, and make accessible state government information.

Title: Criminal Justice Information Network

Description: The North Carolina Criminal Justice Information Network (CJIN) initiative is a project which will allow the sharing of information between state and local criminal justice agencies. The CJIN Study Committee was created during the 1994 Special Crime Session of the North Carolina General Assembly. This committee was tasked to accomplish a primary directive to identify strategies for developing and implementing CJIN. A consulting firm was contracted to perform this study which was presented to the committee in April 1995. A CJIN study objective was developed which summarizes how this network should be developed. The study objective proposes "to identify alternatives for development of a statewide criminal justice information network that will enable a properly authorized user to readily access and effectively use information regardless of its location in national, state, and local databases."
