Description: The NC Immunization Branch exists to promote public health through the identification and elimination of vaccine-preventable diseases like polio, hepatitis B, measles, chickenpox, whooping cough, rubella (German measles), and mumps. In 1994, North Carolina became a universal vaccine state, meaning it provides vaccines for all children from birth through 18 years of age.
