Description: This is the website for DENR's Office of Organizational Excellence. Governor Hunt committed his administration to implementing "Organizational Excellence Principles" into North Carolina State Government as a way of "Reinventing Government". The Department of Environment and Natural Resources (NCDENR) became a pilot agency in this initiative. "Organizational Excellence Principles" encompass factors such as customer focus, continuous improvement, employee involvement and empowerment, teamwork, strategic planning and data-based decision making. Some of the tools we're using are -- brainstorming, flowcharts, workgroups, statistical tools, and decision-making by consensus.
