The North Carolina State Government Web Site Archives contains content from the Web sites of North Carolina State Government Agencies, Occupational Licensing Boards, and Commissions. This collection includes many different types of records, in a variety of file formats (such as text-based information, images, and video and audio files) including meeting minutes, policies, and agency publications. The State Library of North Carolina and the North Carolina State Archives have collaborated on this initiative to identify, capture, and make accessible state government information.

Title: Dry-Cleaning Solvent Cleanup Act Program

Description: This is the website of the dry-cleaning solvent cleanup program. The dry-cleaning solvent cleanup program is designed to provide a fund, administered by the Department of Environment and Natural Resources, to assess and clean contaminated dry-cleaning sites using state-lead contractors. The source for the cleanup fund is a tax on dry-cleaning and dry-cleaning solvents (both perchloroethylene and petroleum-based solvents). Drycleaners or dry-cleaning site property owners may petition for entry into this program. Once in the program, drycleaners are subject to deductibles and co-payments. The program will manage the assessment and cleanup work.

Description: This is the website of the North Carolina Radon Program (NCRP). The responsibilities of the NCRP include radioactive material license inspections, electronic products radiation evaluations (mamography , tanning and X-rays machines) , Environmental radiation monitoring and nuclear emergency preparedness. The Environmental group of NCRP performs statewide environmental monitoring and emergency preparedness around nuclear facilities, and statewide background radiation detection. The radon program of this group is also involved in public information, residential and school monitoring projects and acts in a technical advisory capacity for other State and county agencies involved in radon gases.

Title: North Carolina Geodetic Resources

Description: The vision of the Geodetic Survey Section is to lead the rapidly expanding community of users of geodetic data into the 21st century. NCGS sees this community as including professionals working in the areas of geodesy, surveying, mapping, navigation, environmental and land-use applications, geographic and land information systems, earth orientation and earth and ocean dynamics. This leadership will require NCGS to develop and produce new geodetic products such as: absolute gravity station values, a high-accuracy multi-dimensional network of monumented control points, improved data processing systems, specifications for advanced surveying technologies and techniques and high accuracy geodetic models. NCGS will pursue the newest developments in data base systems and telecommunications, as well as programs for the transfer of technology, to enable its customers to accomplish their missions in a more efficient and cost-effective manner. In pursuit of this vision, NCGS will continue to use the highest standards of quality, service and integrity.
