Description: ASMENA ist Teil des Siebten Forschungsrahmenprogramms der EU (FP7). Über einen Zeitraum von drei Jahren will das Konsortium, das sich aus 15 Partnern aus sieben Ländern zusammensetzt, neue Plattformen für das Wirkstoffscreening und die analytische Profilerstellung auf der Grundlage von In-vitro-Messungen der funktionellen und konformationellen Veränderungen von Membranproteinen entwickeln. Diese Instrumente werden die Erstellung von Standardprofilen und das Screening von Membranprotein-Targets ermöglichen, die derzeit auf diese Weise nicht untersucht werden können. Sie werden die Zeit und die Kosten für die Entwicklung von Arzneimitteln durch bessere Vorhersagbarkeit verkürzen und zum grundlegenden Verständnis der Struktur-Funktions-Beziehungen von Membranproteinen beitragen. / ASMENA is part of the EU's Seventh Framework Program for Research (FP7). Over a three-year period, the consortium, composed of 15 partners from seven countries, aims to develop new platforms for drug screening and analytical profiling based on in vitro measurements of functional and conformational changes in membrane proteins. These tools will enable standard profiling and screening of membrane protein targets that currently cannot be studied in this manner. They will reduce the time and cost of drug development through improved predictability and contribute to the fundamental understanding of membrane protein structure-function relationships.
