Description: The mission of the Florida Shakespeare Theatre (The Biltmore Hotel, 1200 Anastasia Avenue, Coral Gables, FL 33134) was to provide the South Florida community with classical and contemporary theatrical productions of artistic excellence. From their founding in 1979, they toured more than half of Florida's 67 counties. After their home theater was destroyed by Hurricane Andrew in 1992, they moved to a new, larger theater in Coral Gables. They have not been active since 1997.
