Web-published content relating to mock-trial/re-enactment, Joseph Smith Captured! sponsored by the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum and the Illinois Supreme Court Historic Preservation Commission, in an attempt to portray the legal legacy of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints' first prophet and one-time U.S. presidential candidate, Joseph Smith. The re-enactment was based on the Joseph Smith Papers Project collection (http://www.josephsmithpapers.org/). The re-enactment covered the three hearings in which Joseph Smith successfully fought extradition to Missouri from Illinois through a writ of habeas corpus.
