Description: Website maintained by the US Department of Justice that details the civil RICO case brought against the 5 major US tobacco companies. Judge Kessler noted there was substantial evidence which established that Defendants had engaged in and executed – and continue to engage in and execute – "a massive 50-year scheme to defraud the public, including consumers of cigarettes, in violation of RICO. Moreover, Defendants' past and ongoing conduct indicates a reasonable likelihood of future violations."
