Title: Scholarly Digital Resources Center

URL: http://sdrc.lib.uiowa.edu

Description: At its inception, the Scholarly Digital Resources Center (SDRC) was intended to act as the University Libraries’ digital library, but with the development of the Iowa Digital Library (http://digital.lib.uiowa.edu/), SDRC was repurposed largely as a digital object repository. In particular, this reuse of SDRC allowed for maintenance of persistence of URLs for the hundreds of thousands of digital objects that already existed on that server (especially for the Chautauqua, Dada, CERAS, and bridge patents collections). SDRC also remained a home to the proprietary interfaces for non-IDL collections (eg. Calendar of Patent Rolls). The remainder of the SDRC user interface was dismantled as the Iowa Digital Library rose up in its place.
