Description: Maccabi USA/Sports for Israel, originally founded in 1948 in Philadelphia as the United States Committee Sports for Israel, is the official sponsor of the United States Team to the World Maccabiah Games in Israel. Maccabi USA develops, promotes, and supports international, national, and regional athletic competitions including the Pan American Maccabi Games, the JCC Maccabi Games, the European Maccabi Games, and the Maccabi Transatlantic Cup Golf. Website content changes over time, but Maccabi USA’s website has included a timeline of events about the Maccabiah Games and Jewish sport from the 1890s to the 2010s, photograph and video galleries of past competitions and athlete interviews, information on competition and fundraising events, press releases and news articles, newsletters, and links to external resources on athletics and associated Jewish organizations.
