As part of Copley Library, the Archives, Special Collections, and Digital Initiatives Department serves the University of San Diego by preserving institutional history, supporting university scholarship through digital publishing, digitizing unique content, creating accessible and sustainable digital collections, and by developing and providing access to its special collections of rare print material. The web archiving program for the University of San Diego contributes to these endeavors by preserving valuable web content associated with the university.

According to the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights Human rights are rights inherent to all human beings, whatever our nationality, place of residence, sex, national or ethnic origin, colour, religion, language, or any other status. We are all equally entitled to our human rights without discrimination. These rights are all interrelated, interdependent and indivisible. This collection seeks to document the websites of those organizations that are supporting human rights at the California-Mexico border.
