Description: Yellowstone River Oil Spill provides information and links discussing the impact of a break in the ExxonMobile Silvertip 12-inch crude-oil pipeline that crosses under the Yellowstone River that occurred on July 1, 2011. This website answers questions concerning water and air quality, impact on wildlife, cleanup efforts and how residents can protect themselves from oil-contaminated water. Links are provided to websites such as the Department of Environmental Quality, Disaster and Emergency Services, Fish, Wildlife and Parks, Department of Health and Human Services, Department of Natural Resources and Conservation, Department of Agriculture, Department of Livestock and the US Environmental Protection Agency. Additionally, updates concerning cleanup and the State of Montana's efforts to prevent similar disasters in the future are also available.
