The April 16 Web Archive captures a wide variety of content related to the April 16, 2007 tragedy at Virginia Tech. It includes memorial and tribute sites, commercial and non-commercial media, and other relevant web-based materials. This collection was specifically developed as a complement to the April 16 Archive (www.april16archive.org), which is dedicated to collecting and preserving individual stories, images, and files related to the events of April 16.

Description:
Hurricane Irene was a Atlantic Hurricane that left extensive flood and wind damage along its path through the Caribbean, the United States East Coast and as far north as Atlantic Canada in 2011 between the dates August 21st - August 26th, 2011. Irene caused widespread destruction and atleast 54 deaths, the monetary losses to the Caribbean could be as high as US $3.1 billion and around 7 billion dollars in United States (early damage estimates).

Developed and maintained by faculty and staff at Virginia Tech with the generous support of the Internet Archive, this collection is a counterpart to the April 16 Web Archive.
