UTSA Libraries Special Collections sustains the university's teaching, research, and outreach mission by preserving and providing access to valuable primary resources, and by creating digital collections for use by students and scholars at UTSA and from around the world. Through its web archiving program, Special Collections uses Archive-It 1) to regularly capture and preserve web content created by UTSA’s administrative units, academic programs, and student life groups as part of our University Archives’ collecting mandate; and 2) to capture websites of organizations and web coverage of topical events that complement and/or supplement our physical collection development strategies. Title: Language and Cultural Engagement in Thailand 2008

Description: Students will learn, experience and engage in language learning, language teaching, and cultural activities for course credit during the Summer 2007. Students will travel to the Trang Province of Thailand where they will be placed in public schools as English as a second language tutors. Students will receive intensive cultural and ESL teaching methodology training prior to a 2-week assignment in an ESL classroom in the Trang province. Students will also participate in cultural excursions and activities in other parts of the country.
