Description: This 29-page report aims to quantify the extent to which disruptions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic in services for HIV, TB, and malaria in high burden low- and middle-income countries could lead to additional loss of life. In high burden settings, HIV, TB, and malaria related deaths over five years may be increased by up to 10 percent, 20 percent, and 36 percent, respectively, compared to if there were no COVID-19 epidemic.

Description: This analysis explores variation in the rate of flu vaccination among adults ages 65 and older covered by Medicare, and reasons cited for not getting vaccinated, based on data from the 2018 Medicare Current Beneficiary Survey. Findings include that flu vaccination rates are lower among older Black and Hispanic adults than older white adults.

Description: To provide greater insight into the characteristics of people at greater risk of illness if infected with the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), this report builds on a prior analysis of higher risk adults in the U.S. to break down these numbers by race/ethnicity and household income in 2018. Among people ages 18-64, American Indian/Alaska Native and black adults are more likely than white adults to be at a higher risk of serious illness due to underlying health conditions and longstanding disparities in health care and other socio-economic factors.
