Description: This report examines the Pasto-Macoa Highway Project, an infrastructure project of the Initiative for the Integration of the Regional Infrastructure of South America (IIRSA). The project proposes to construct a highway from Pasto to Macoa within Colombia as part of the eventual construction of a transcontinental highway, from Tumaco, Colombia to Belem, Brazil, thereby providing a road linking the Pacific to the Atlantic. The article looks at issues surrounding this project, including the potential impact on indigenous communities. Article in Spanish.

Description: This article is a statement released by the Continental Summit of Indigenous Communication of Abya Yala, following its meeting held from November 8-12, 2010 in Cauca, Colombia that focused on the issues of "Coexistence, Territory, Dialogue and Negotiation." The statement declares the intention of the coalition to establish a Continental Network of Indigenous Communications in order to articulate the different networks, processes and experiences of indigenous peoples and nations. The statement includes a plan of action to establish this continental communication network. The statement also includes a condemnation of the actions of multinational mining, oil, gas and forestry companies in indigenous territories. Article in Spanish.
