Description:
On February 25, 2022, President Joe Biden formally nominated Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson to replace retiring associate justice Stephen Breyer on the United States Supreme Court (SCOTUS). The announcement ignited congressional, academic, and public interest in Jackson; that interest has only grown since the nomination and has focused increasingly on Jackson’s journey through the U.S. Senate’s confirmation process. The Ketanji Brown Jackson web archives collection documents this interesting current event by preserving some of the public information and journalism published about it. The collection brings together information about Jackson’s confirmation hearings, qualifications for a position on the Court, and public opinion about her confirmation and suitability for the role. It concentrates on mainstream media news articles, government statements, press releases, and other media-published materials of the hearings released after the presidential nomination (primarily between late February and the beginning of April, 2022).
