Description:
The Johns Hopkins University campus life web collection contains web content documenting campus life at Johns Hopkins University, including Facebook sites and other websites of student organizations, and student-related publications. As of 2018, there are over 400 University-recognized student organizations. The Archives selects a subset of public-facing student organization web presences for inclusion in the campus life web collection based on a variety of criteria. Considerations include the significance of the student organization to University history and present role on campus, the uniqueness of the student organization and associated web content, and current events that merit documentation. This collection is crawled twice annually. URLs are routinely added or deactivated from the collection as collecting priorities evolve and URLs are found to no longer be active. (Note: if you are a member of any of the organizations captured in this collection and have questions or concerns, please contact the University Archives.)

Description:
The Preserving the Response to the Johns Hopkins Police Department and ICE Contracts collection contains web content related to the formation of the Johns Hopkins Police Department and Johns Hopkins contracts with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement. The collection does not seek to document these topics comprehensively, rather, intends to fill gaps in what university records document. In particular, the Archives selected web content documenting the spring 2019 sit-in protesting these topics, also known as the Garland Sit-In. Selected web content includes news stories, opinion pieces, and Facebook. The Facebook page for the Garland Sit-In was collected with the creators’ consent.
