The North Carolina State Government Web Site Archives and Access Program helps fulfill these mandates by providing archiving, preservation, and access services for websites and social media content produced and maintained by North Carolina state agencies.

It was the first state organization to include all agencies for arts and culture under one umbrella. The department is comprised of the Office of Archives and History and the Office of Arts and Libraries.
