Description: This article discusses the Procuenca Initiative, which is a tree plantation program that has been established in the watershed basin of Chinchiná, in western Colombia. The Procuenca Initiative, which has been certified as part of the Clean Development Mechanism (CDM), may become one of the world's first sales of carbon credits for forest and biodiversity conservation.
