Description: Web site for a communications network dedicated to providing the citizens of North Carolina with important information and resources regarding the threat of bioterrorism and other emerging infectious diseases within our state and around the nation. North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services in conjunction with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has created this Health Alert Network. The Health Alert Network is a communications system designed to immediately alert key health officials and care providers in North Carolina to acts of bioterrorism as well as other types of emerging disease threats. The Department of Health and Human Services intends for this Web site to facilitate immediate response and appropriate care in the event of a public health emergency.
