Description: INDIANA UNIVERSITY'S OFFICE OF INTERNATIONAL PROGRAMS (OIP) promotes and coordinates the growth of international programs and studies at the eight campuses of the university. The office provides overall leadership in initiating programs and responding to opportunities that enhance the goals of internationalization throughout the university system. To ensure that the university's three functions of teaching, research, and public service have an international dimension, the office: promotes international research and curriculum development acts as an advocate for faculty and students with international interests provides grant opportunities for research, collaboration, and travel by faculty and students develops and administers overseas study and exchange programs promotes the university's numerous institutional affiliations and linkages abroad provides support services for international students, faculty, and visiting scholars maintains contact with international alumni and encourages recruitment of qualified foreign students develops the university's capacity for technical and development assistance projects cooperates with the university's area studies centers and international institutes serves as the university's principal liaison for outreach activities to local, state, and regional organizations in Indiana with international concerns
