Description: The Virginia Wounded Warrior Program (VWWP) s operated by the Virginia Department of Veterans Services in cooperation with the Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services and the Department for Aging and Rehabilitative Services. Virginia Wounded Warrior Program (VWWP) was established in 2008 in response to the growing need to improve and expand services to our nation’s veterans and their family members coping with the impact of deployment, military service, post-traumatic stress, operational stress and/or traumatic brain injury. VWWP monitors and coordinates the delivery of behavioral health, rehabilitative, and supportive services for Virginia Veterans and their families.

Description: Purpose, Powers and Duties: To honor patriotic Virginians who rendered faithful service and sacrifice in the cause of freedom and liberty for the Commonwealth and the nation in the time of war. The foundation shall manage, control, maintain, and operate the Virginia War Memorial. Effective 1 July 2012 the Virginia General Assembly Established the Virginia War Memorial as a division within the Department of Veterans Services. The bill eliminates the Virginia War Memorial Foundation and replaces it with the Virginia War Memorial Board and sets the membership, terms, and powers and duties of the Board.
