Description: The University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA) Protein Biomarkers Core (PBC) applies specialized instrumentation, algorithms, and methods to discover protein biomarkers in complex biological samples. Method development for gel and gel-free, capillary liquid chromatography- mass spectrometry (LC/MS) and –tandem mass spectrometry (LC/MS/MS)-based protein biomarker discovery is performed in conjunction with the UTSA Proteomics Core. We are presently seeking funding with a Research Centers in Minority Institutions (RCMI) proposal to the National Center for Research Resources (NCRR) at the National Institutes of Health (NIH).
