The article describes the case of the second patient in which doctors were able to eradicate the HIV virus known as the "London patient." Both the London patient and the first patient to be cured of HIV, known as the "Berlin patient," had bone marrow transplants to treat other illnesses that resulted in the elimination of the HIV virus.
