Durbar advocates for improving HIV/AIDS policies, provides health care for sex workers, provides education and vocational training for sex workers and their children, creates outlets for the cultural expression of sex workers, fights against human trafficking, finances micro loans for sex workers, and conducts research on sex work and sexual health in West Bengal. The Revolutionary Association of the Women of Afghanistan (RAWA), was established in 1977 as an independent political/social organization of Afghan women fighting for human rights in Afghanistan. Their objectives are to fight fundamentalism and secure democracy for Afghans. RAWA has established schools, orphanages, and soup kitchens, and run trade courses for sex workers.
