Description: Arizona Classical Theatre (info@azshakes.com) was founded in Prescott, AZ in 1998 by Kelly Johnston and Tracey Mason. The Shakespeare Festival spent the first 5 years on an outdoor stage in Granite Creek park, and then partnered with Prescott High School and moved indoors to the Ruth Street Theater. In addition to the summer festival the company has produced shows in various Prescott venues doing anything from A Christmas Carol to modern comedies to original new works. ACT is also home to the improvisational/dramatic performance group The World's Greatest Shakespeare Company. In 2008 they reverted the festival to an outdoor setting and expanded to a 20 city state wide tour.

Description: Shakespeare by the Sea (777 S. Centre Street, San Pedro CA 90731) is a nonprofit organization that was launched in 1998 by Producing Artistic Director Lisa Coffi. Partnerships with local city organizations enable them to offer the performances for free. Each summer, the company tours to 14 or 15 cities for a total of 34 to 36 performances. Over the years, SBTS has developed into a mid-sized arts organization with three core programs: 1), Free Summer Repertory presented in San Pedro and then throughout the South Bay, LA and Orange Counties; 2) Little Fish Theatre (LFT) our 60 seat black box theatre where they produce new, classic and contemporary works year-round; 3) Shaking it up with Shakespeare (SWISS), their touring educational outreach program.
