The State Archives and State Library of North Carolina, divisions within the Department of Natural and Cultural Resources, operate with legislative mandates to preserve state government information and make it accessible to the citizens of North Carolina (G.S. 121-2, G.S. 125-11.5 - 11.13, G.S. 132-1b).
