The Council is a joint ministry of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church, Cumberland Presbyterian Church in America, Korean Presbyterian Church Abroad, and the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.). It helps ensure that ministers meet and maintain the Department of Defense standards for all religious leaders who wish to serve as chaplains. The Council recruits, endorses, and supports chaplains for the mission of pastoral care and nurture to veterans, military and Civil Air Patrol personnel, federal prisoners, and their families.
