Collection: The Berenst(E)ain Bears Conspiracy
Description: In 2010, Fiona Broome, paranormal author/researcher began this site as an online journal discussing a phenomenon she jointly coined as “The Mandela Effect, defined as when a large number of people, mainly total strangers, have the same memory of something but which is different from what can be found in actual physical evidence such as books, newspaper archives, etc. In 2011, the site opened to user comments for discussions on alternate memories beyond just the one of Nelson Mandela dying in prison, and this is when the Berenst(E)ain Bears became one of the most popular topics of the site. In 2016, Broome shut down the user interaction portion as it became out of hand with over 11,000 random comments and redirected visitors who wanted to have discussions to sites such as Reddit and AboveTopSecret. Currently she is working on linking the major discussion threads to one another and evolving the site to a more cohesive resource for information, insights, and scientific news, in order to help further explain and deepen the understanding of The Mandela Effect.

Collection: The Berenst(E)ain Bears Conspiracy
Description: Seminal article summarizing the conspiracy as well as its origins. Online communication is notorious for its difficulty with expressing tone, however, Mack Lamoureux does a brilliant job in this article with his writing style by encapsulating all aspects of the playfulness, silliness, sarcasm, and humor surrounding this conspiracy. Also provides a thorough textual timeline of the various theories appearances on the internet, including the Mandela Effect and the Butterfly Effect and includes additonal possible explanations for this psychological phenomenon by consulting false memories expert Dr.Henry Roediger, as well as book series publisher, Random House.

Collection: The Berenst(E)ain Bears Conspiracy
Description: The Berenst(E)ain Bears Conspiracy Theory asks: Wasn’t it BerenSTEIN, not BerenSTAIN? Everyone remembers Jan and Stan Berenstain’s children’s cartoon show The Berenstain Bears as actually Berenstein but all evidence has been removed from reality! Does this mean we crossed into a parallel universe? An example of the Mandela Effect? This video discusses the people behind bringing conspiracy to light: Reddit users, rapper El-P, and the blog “the Wood between Worlds.”
