Title: Voices of the Virus: A Living History of the Novel Coronavirus from University of Kentucky Students blog

URL: https://voicesofthevirus.wordpress.com/

Collection: Lexington-Fayette County (Ky.) Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) Web Archives

Description: Comprises a WordPress blog of first-person reflections from 10 University of Kentucky students on their experiences of the coronavirus pandemic. The students were members of Emily Naser-Hall's WRD 110 class during the spring semester 2020. The student's names are Rebekka Eschen Danielsen, Kelsey Hamilton, Claudia Harding, Quincy Ipsaro, Christian O’Grady, Nashia Olise, Lindsay Parker, Matt Sak, Branden Stroede, and Qingxuan Xia. Donation submitted through UK Libraries Special Collections Research Center "In This Together: Documenting COVID-19 in the Commonwealth" collecting initiative. Description from donor: "When we made the transition to online learning, I adjusted the final project for my WRD 110 class to be a public scholarship blog that would incorporate the first-person living histories of all of my students during the COVID crisis. Students had the option of completing a written, audio, or visual project and could choose any subject that interested them, as long as it responded to their experiences of the current moment. This blog is the compilation of all of their final projects." At least one student's video was not captured, because it was not available on the live blog site. After 2022-12-25 this seed was no longer active.
