Description: Kulap was born in Washington D.C. and raised in Eagan, Minnesota. She is the child of Lao refugees. Her debut documentary, Origin Story, chronicles a road trip into her complicated past to meet her biological father and understand her mother. Vilaysack was also the creator, showrunner and sometimes director of the 4-season semi-scripted comedy series Bajillion Dollar Propertie$ (Seeso). She served as showrunner and co-executive producer of A Legendary Christmas With John & Chrissy (NBC). Kulap also directed the Emily Heller Comedy Special, Ice Thickeners (Comedy Central Digital).

Description: Born in the Mekong Delta, Hoa was raised and educated in the United States and has lived in Canada since 2011. She has had the privilege to work and teach all over the United States and Canada, and share her unique perspective through her poetry. A Toronto-based poet, speaker, facilitator, she is the author of As Long As Trees Last, Red Juice, Violet Energy Ingots, and A Thousand Times You Lose Your Treasure forthcoming from Wave Books in April 2021.. An experienced and popular teacher of poetics, Nguyen teaches for Miami University’s low residency MFA program, in the Milton Avery School for Fine Arts at Bard College, and as associated faculty for University of Guelph. She is the founder and leader of a popular long-running, poetics workshop in cyberspace and Toronto. Her poetry has been recognized with a 2019 Neustadt International Prize for Literature nomination and Pushcart Prize.
