The Harvard University Archives is the oldest and one of the largest institutional academic archives in the nation.

The Harvard University Archives collects, organizes, preserves and provides access to a comprehensive record of more than 375 years of life at Harvard. From 17th and 18th century diaries and scientific observations to 21st century web sites, the Harvard University Archives’ collections comprise over 51,000 feet and 9 terabytes of University records and related historical materials.

This activity is tied integrally to records management services for Harvard University staff, administrators and faculty. Records management staff provide guidance and resources for all stages in the records and information lifecycle, from creating records through destruction of non-permanent records or transfer of permanent records to the Harvard University Archives.

Description: The Harvard Crimson Journalism Conference is a one-day event for high school journalists with all levels of experience. Participants attend seminars on different aspects of journalism led by the Crimson's editors and executives, panels on how to incorporate journalism experiences into college applications, as well as attend a keynote speech by an accomplished journalist followed by a Q&A session. Faculty advisors also have a chance to tour the building and participate in a roundtable discussion. The Conference is conducted in the Spring and Fall. The week-long Crimson Summer Journalism Academy provides an opportunity for students to work with Crimson staffers on various journalism-related skills, learn about the workings of a daily newspaper, and print a paper of their own at the end of the week. The Harvard Crimson Journalism Conferences website provides information on purpose and attendee eligibility requirements for the conference, seminars, discussion groups, conference leadership, dates, and costs.
