Description:
The 150 Years of Women at Berkeley (150W) celebration was sponsored by the Office of the Chancellor and was a joint effort of the Administration and the Academic Senate. This celebration marked the 150th anniversary of the UC Regents’ unanimous approval of a resolution by Regent Samuel F. Butterworth: “That young ladies be admitted into the University on equal terms in all respects with young men,” enacted on October 3, 1870. The resulting website is an archive of the contributions and the biographies of UC Berkeley women across all academic and administrative departments of the University of California, Berkeley.

Blockeley University is the effort of hundreds of students who in response to the Covid-19 pandemic, sustained their community by building the UC Berkeley campus in Minecraft, a sandbox video game. This effort was recognized by the Chancellor’s Office and a virtual commencement ceremony was conducted in the Blockley University Minecraft server.
