Charleston High School is located in rural east central Illinois and is home to 800 students. Individuals from the Classes of 2010, 2011, 2012, and 2013 were invited to take part in this archiving project to show the diversity of interests, talents and values within the school's community.

Because our school has participated in the archiving project for the past two years, the majority of this year's participants are experienced "crawlers." As a result, these students have been able to mentor the freshmen in evaluating previous years’ archives and adjust our seeds accordingly. The students’ challenge in developing the new collections was to consider their own personal uses of digital media and then identify, describe, and explain how these sites reflect their personalities to create a portrait of our community.
